Local and Vocal
A survey commissioned for Noosa Community Radio has revealed that listeners value 101.3FM for providing local voices, local
information and minimal advertising.
The survey also showed that 101.3FM has the biggest market share of community broadcasters in the former Noosa Shire.
Almost 80% of listeners to community radio tuned in to 101.3FM and spent an average of five hours a week doing so.
The areas that listen to 101.3FM are Noosaville (20%), Tewantin (17%) and surprisingly, Coolum Beach (13%) provides the third biggest
audience, despite not being in the former Noosa Shire. The rest of the audience comes mostly from the former Noosa Shire.
The majority of 101.3FM's listeners are female (68%), while just 32% are male.
Most people listen at breakfast (5:30 to 9:00 a.m., 33%) or drive time (3:00
to 6:00 p.m., 28%).
